Well, you have come to the right place! Here, I will share with you on how to lose weight. But before that, I need something from you. Patience! Yes, you hear it right. You have to be patient. Losing weight takes time. You can’t expect to lose weight within a short span of time, like within a week or two. However, I’m not saying that you need a year to see results.
Losing a desired amount of weight takes time and it also depends on several factors such as discipline, perseverance and consistency. A person genetics, body types and health issues also play a part. While some people may only take two to three months to see results, others may take slightly longer.
For you to lose weight, other than the factors mentioned above, exercise and diet have to come into play. Both must work hand in hand for you to lose weight, just like using a pair of chopsticks to pick up food.
Exercise
Exercise is one of the key factors in losing weight. However, to lose weight, you will have to do more cardio. Jogging is one good and simple example of cardio exercise that can help to lose weight. For beginners or older folks who are just starting out to exercise to lose weight, you may try jogging two to three times a week and slowly increase the frequency to four or five times a week. Those with medical conditions such as asthma or high blood pressure should consult doctor before performing any exercise.
Prior to any exercise, please always remember to do warm up exercises as this will help to minimise or prevent any unnecessary injuries.
If you are tired of jogging, you can switch to other cardio exercises such as rope skipping, HIIT, rope battling, cycling, brisk walking, swimming, etc.
Diet
Diet plays an important part in losing weight. Understand the importance of carbohydrates, proteins and fats intake make it easier for you to either gain or lose weight.
Many people would say that carbohydrate is bad. But is this really true? The truth is that our body requires all nutrients for proper body functioning and carbohydrate is the primary fuel source for intense work or any physical activity and is necessary for the formation of adenosine triphosphate in the central nervous system.
For you to lose weight, you have to know how many calories you are eating per day and take into account of the percentage of carbohydrates, proteins and fats you are eating for a period of time. As your body get used to this amount of calories, slowly cut the amount of carbohydrates. Please note that your carbohydrate percentage should always be more than 40%.
The important thing to note here is that you should always exercise and keep your diet clean and healthy. Either exercise or diet alone can’t help you lose weight. The two must work hand in hand with the other factors mentioned in paragraph 3.
Foods to avoid when losing weight
You should also avoid those junk foods or fried foods which may deter you from losing weight and fats. Other than these, you should avoid inconsistency of your daily diet, commonly known as yo-yo diet and also reduce simple sugars intake. Please do not try to take slimming pill as it does not help in weight loss. You may see the temporary effect of losing some weight but once you stop taking the pill, you will gain back your weight again and it may also come with some side effects.
